Road Traffic Safety Policy

OPTION TRAVEL is committed to the prevention of road traffic accidents and injuries as well as continuous improvement of its RTS management system.

OPTION TRAVEL will achieve this by:
- Implementing a comprehensive RTS management system that meets the requirements of ISO 39001:2012.
- Identifying and assessing risks associated with road traffic.
- Implementing controls to reduce risks to an acceptable level.
- Communicating the RTS policy to all employees and
- stakeholders. Employees will be trained on the RTS policy and procedures.
- Monitoring and reviewing the RTS management system on a regular basis to ensure its continued effectiveness. The results of the monitoring and review will be used to improve the system and to achieve OPTION TRAVEL's objectives.

OPTION TRAVEL's Road Traffic Safety (RTS) objectives according to ISO 39001:2012 requirements are to:
- Plan work and journeys to reduce exposure to road related risk.
- Assess the risks relating to the use of vehicles on company business and implement suitable control measures.
- Plan work and journeys to reduce exposure to road related risk.Strive for continual improvement in occupational road safety performance by minimizing risk to those affected by monitoring accidents and incidents on a regular basis.
- Implement consistent practices with regard to fleet safety: consult with employees, and communicate all updated policies and control measures.
- Monitor to ensure that the Company vehicle fleet is mechanically safe, and vehicle defects reported by employees are rectified promptly.
- Monitor to ensure that staff who drives on Company vehicles are legally entitled to drive with a current valid license for the relevant class of vehicle.
- Assess driving abilities, and provide driver training for staff who fall below the required standard, or as otherwise required.
- Ensure that all drivers are fit to drive. Provide training for staff on how to carry out vehicle checks, and ensure that these checks are carried out.
- Monitoring journey plan, including time for breaks on long journey regularly.
- Reporting all accidents or damage to any vehicle immediately.
- Reporting vehicle defects or safety concerns immediately to management and not using the vehicle until the defect is rectified.
- Showing consideration for the safety of passengers and other road users, including drivers, motorcyclists, cyclists and pedestrians.

OPTION TRAVEL’s management is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the RTS management system. All employees are responsible for complying with the RTS policy and procedures.
